Hello everyone! First post here. I have an AVRI Strat and I love it a lot. I got the itch for a Tele and picked up this AVRI from Guitar Center. They tend to get a bad rap, but for used, its a good avenue because if it doesn't check out, then its easy to return.

Regardless, I bought this AVRI from them. I thought based on the serial number (which obviously is a guess) that it would be near a 2010 year. However, the neck shows 2006, so that was a bit surprising! Anyway, can someone take a look at my AVRI and make sure it's all kosher? It's incredibly light, which I am not sure if its a good thing or a bad thing!~ The pickguard seems to be made of an odd material too, perhaps thats normal! Hopefully it all looks legit!

Yep. Sweet as a nut. All good.

Slotted screws. Bakelite-type guard. Nickel hardware. These are actually very hard to fake.

Very nice. I have an AVRI Jazz Bass and love it. I'm planning buying my first tele, but I didn't find a good deal yet. I want something special like an AVRI or AO tele and second hand because it tends to hold value.

Very nice. WElcome and happy new used guitar day. Pickguard should be bakelite sort of black and feel brittle thick and not like plastic.

Welcome! A great Tele... Looks like it might be a one-piece body... Certainly no seam in the middle.

There's a join down the body from the bass side of the neck pocket and one through the control cavity.

    That's pretty standard.

If you mean is it an indication of whether it is genuine, the answer is probably not. I'm not sure about this model in particular, but generally Telecasters come in a wide range of weights. So whether it is a good or bad thing depends on whether you like light guitars or not. Personally, I do as I find them more comfortable to play whether standing or sitting.

It's a very nice looking guitar.

Welcome aboard Thundergod! I just picked up a used white AVRI58 last week, I love it. Yours looks legit to me. The black on butterscotch is a classic, very nice. The one I got is also nice and light; the man I bought it from said they were selecting light weight swamp ash for these AVRIs that were built in the early 2000s, to match the light weight ash that was common in the late '50s guitars.

Light weight is always good when it comes to the guitar, because when you sell it, it will go REALLY fast. :D
