We played at a wedding last night, and it was great to get back out in front of people to play music. Asides from a short outdoor concert in a park last August, this is first we've played publicly since last March. We were gigging just about every weekend before then, so the sudden time off was both jarring and oddly needed. Still, it's great to be back. The setup and the teardown took a little longer than usual, but once we started playing it was like we never stopped. It's nice to see the world gradually returning to normal.

Couldn't agree more! My gigs are all assisted and independent living facilities, and were SERIOUSLY shut down the last three quarters of 2020. Vaccinations have opened up the market again: three gigs in January, February and March; four in April, five in May, 10 scheduled for June. In about a third of them I have to sing with a mask on, which is a pain, but If ya wanna play...

We've got our first one the weekend after next. Again, for us, gigging each week to nothing was a bit of a shock. We've had a few rehearsals and we're going to be fine. No doubt that we'll invent some new ways to mess up, but that's part of the fun.
