Fish should never be square
The best fish of all time is beer battered cod served family style at a Lenten Friday Night FIsh Fry for a Catholic school fundraiser.
Scientific fact, and, if you know, you know
At the mere mention of Tuna Casserole, my throat constricts, and my stomach starts tying to get away, but there's no where to run! When you eat tuna casserole, you don't dare hike your leg and fire one off, or cats from ten blocks around will think your a giant can of cat food.
I’m very fortunate to live in an area where you can’t swing a dead rat on a string and not hit a place that makes great fish and chips. Mostly cod and haddock from local waters. It’s all year long. I’ve never had catfish. What does that taste like?
It depends on what the mud taste like in the river it came out of. You either love catfish, or keep your distance from it. Went to see my sis in law back in Arkansas one time, and she wanted to take us to a big catfish place. We were uncomfortable in telling her we would rather go somewhere else. It was better than just sitting at the table looking at the fish and wondering what it had been munching on at the bottom of the river.
we were going through mcdonalds and i saw 2 fish sandwiches for 5 bucks, so we got 2 apiece - we were celebrating Lent and didn't even know it!
i swear i've had catfish that were as good as any ocean fish, cod, haddock or whatever. i hate fish that taste like mud. but i've had ocean fish that tasted horrible, too. it's all a crap shoot. usually "farm" catfish is ok.
The story of the origin of the filet-o-fish is quite interesting.
I'll eat any fish not raised on a farm. The local river whitefish, beer battered is fantastic.
Drive north. Walleye country is right there.
Isn't that, like, a civil rights violation in WI?
Lol. I add peas and mushrooms and sprinkle of worsestire
Yep, drive up and get it to go, took an hour sitting in line....Cod and fries. I miss all the fixins'...
You could always do a "Pepper n Egg" sandwich.
+1 on fish and pancakes tasting better when served in mass quantities at a house of worship.
Discount seafood... that was a bad idea...
We foreshadowed a fish meal in your honor when we baked some salmon and served it over couscous and some garlic butter pan-cooked baby spinach.
It was a pretty good combination, for just winging it. As a cook, I am kind of an open-position chords player.
I "used to" travel to the Dallas Fort/Worth area from Oklahoma several times a year. I have family in McKinney, north of Dallas and in Fort Worth and there are two of the biggist Guitar shows held in Dallas and Fort Worth.
We always plan our trip so we can stop off for lunch at Huck's Catfish just off the main highway in Denison Texas just south of the Red River separating Oklahoma and Texas.
Huck's is the #1 restaurant out of 38 restaurants in Denison.
Baked potato, catfish fillets, hush puppies and cole slaw. Yum Yum
I’m not Catholic and didn’t realize that is Lent, but we just finished our dinner featuring smoked salmon.
you guys- catfish is like the beef jerkey to battered cod's filet mignon
hey it made sense in my head
and, i do like catfish, too
I’m not Catholic, so I don’t observe Lent.
However, a few years ago several of my coworkers had given up certain foods, etc., in observance...they wanted to go to lunch somewhere they could get chicken...so they went to Hooter’s.
I’m not judging, but...?
