    Hi everybody,

This morning my Warmoth order went through. Here are the specs:

    -Unfinished Swamp ash tele body
    -Strat pup routes
    -Strat trem route
    -Tummy and Forearm Cuts
    -Fender American Standard Trem
-1pc "Fat" maple neck, satin finish
    -SS6105 stainless fretwire
    -Gotoh vintage tuners

I'm going to burn a design into the wood using pyrography tools.

Now, $900 later, I've just got an 8-10 week wait! When I get it and start the build - pics will follow!

Have fun. What color will it be?

Just curious... why all that hardware on a Tele body? Why not a strat?

When building, be patient. I ruined a nearly finished pine body today because I got in a hurry and tried to use a paddle bit where I should have used a forstner bit.

Best of luck, its a lot of fun.

thekiwidisciple, welcome to the forum! You came to the right place if you need any help.
Congrats on your build. wow! Good for you. I've never tried my own build. Sounds like fun and it's great that you have a budget that allows you to do it your way.
Keep us posted and take pics as you go. You could even start by taking pics of what you've got now. Let's start a build thread....what are you calling your partscaster????

Patience is...not my strong point! :p

The reason that I'm putting Strat hardware in a Tele is that I love both guitars. Hardware/pup-wise I prefer the Strat, but the feel and sound of a Tele body is IMHO far better.

Cheers for all the replies, guys.

If you don't have patience, then I am afraid you may be setting yourself up for disappointment.

Building/assembling a guitar takes time, concentration and a gameplan. You've just forked out 900 clams and if you want your guitar to be a keeper you better take your time and do it properly. Don't let your eagerness to play it get in the way of a good result.

I'm fine with patience when it comes to building something. I just say it's not my strong point because usually it isn't, but when I'm making/building something I take my time.
