I need some help here.
I have two big blocks of something that is supposed to be Lebanon's cedar. I bought that logs years ago from a a guy that get retired, he had a small luthier shop and he was building local instruments as baglama and buzuki, you can see the shapes of baglamas traced on the wood in the second photo.
The one in the photo is the smaller one and i am thinking to make a LP neck style out of that wood. Is cedar any good for guitar necks?

Great work Nick, but can I ask about your Paisley avatar please?
Have you finished that project, and how did it turn out?
I ask because I built a Paisley Thinline earlier this year and installed the Bigsby for Telecaster kit but I am not happy with the bridge; I cannot adjust the height and maybe I should follow your example and use a regular tele bridge, slotted to allow the strings passage.

Unfortunately the bigsby was never placed on that telecaster , the owner changed his mind and the guitar ended with e Wilkinson bridge instead so i can no enlighten you about how to solve that problem.
Since i have the bigsby amd i am thinking to build another tele from another ammo box, the first ammunition box tele is already posted here in tdpri, I would like to know if you find the solution to your problem, your knowledge will save me time.

It will look like it is quartersawn.
Exactly, although the quartersawn necks has been accused for a stiff sound fender and Sure has some interesting articles about quartersawn vs flatsawn.
I don't really know if there is a difference in sound between two exactly the same necks with the one to be made from a quartersawn log and the other one to be made from a flatsawn, but there might be stability difference for sure.
Here are the two articles i mentioned,it is a five minute read for everyone that is interesting to have a look.
