Thanks for the input Dave.You will likely not hear anything encouraging around here but if that actually is cedar of Lebanon (which it looks to be) it will be more than strong enough. It held up the roof of a temple so..........

Unfortunately the bigsby was never placed on that telecaster , the owner changed his mind and the guitar ended with e Wilkinson bridge instead so i can no enlighten you about how to solve that problem.Great work Nick, but can I ask about your Paisley avatar please?
Have you finished that project, and how did it turn out?
I ask because I built a Paisley Thinline earlier this year and installed the Bigsby for Telecaster kit but I am not happy with the bridge; I cannot adjust the height and maybe I should follow your example and use a regular tele bridge, slotted to allow the strings passage.
Exactly, although the quartersawn necks has been accused for a stiff sound fender and Sure has some interesting articles about quartersawn vs flatsawn.It will look like it is quartersawn.
