Did a rough set- up to make sure everything is good before moving on to the finish. I had to route the neck pocket about 1/16" deeper to get the action to where it felt good.

Disassembled everything and time to fill the little dings in the body.

Color and 3 coats of clear sprayed yesterday.

Used rattlecan enamel, so it will be a while before I can try to wetsand, but it looks good so far.

Well, I only let it go for about 10 days before I decided to polish it. Nice and shiny! The finish is fragile though... it needed a few more coats of clear, but live and learn.

Here she is all finished (well mostly).
I need to re-do the control cover. Pre-finish it fit so tight that I figured I'd need to sand the edges after it was painted, but now it's at least 1/16" too small down one side. Weird!

This was a fun, frustrating and sometimes demoralizing project that I plan to do again using what I learned with this one. I'll add building the neck next time.

    I dig it.
kind of wondering what it would look like with a 3/3 headstock. or maybe a 4/2? I think you should move forward with a neck build to compliment that body.:D

I agree that a 3/3 would look better. Didn't really think about the headstock shape when I was coming up with the body shape. Maybe someday.
