    I love ML's.
    Dean and Washburn.
I like the goofy Dean Headstock.
    Because, well... I'm goofy.

This weekend I replaced both of the PUPS on my First Act 222's with Alnicos. An A5 and a A2. I'm pleased. Both still need some Nut Filing and final intonation. But I've been playing them and having a blast.

    Back to the Mini ML.
$26 in its original box with an Amplifier.
    $20 shipping fee.

I thought it was cool. So I popped for it.

Crazy Clean...I don't think it ever left the box.:p:D

    For size comparison...
Next to a Baby ML knock Off.

I've been putting in extra hours for work this weekend...so the Mini Guitar was a good side project. Plus I dont feel great.
    This kept my mind busy.

It came with these funky open tuners that were way too high.
I replaced them with the best of the First Act Tuners I have accumulated. Took some 3 × 3's and made up a 2 x 4 set.

Wasnt too much work to plug some holes and get these into it.

Cleaned them up and put Lithium Grease on them. Dropped em' in.

Strung it up with heavier guage strings.
Action feels comparable to 10's on one of my full size MLs.

I had it all broken down.
Liquid Wrench into the Truss Rod.
    Next day...leveled the neck.
    Frets were all seated.
    No high frets!

Did the fret edges to get rid of any sharp ends. Didn't take long. Oiled the board...0000 Steel wooled the back of the neck.

    It's almost 10 years old.

Set the string height at 1/16 over the 17th fret. All strings.
    Neck is practically straight...little relief.
    Set the intonation.

    Stretched the strings.
Plugged it into my Boss Katana...
    Tuned it to Drop D.
Set the amp to Brown Sound.

Played my instrumental version of War Pigs by Sabbath.
    It was insane.
    :eek::twisted::cool:;)

I'll work the Nut Slots tonight and call it done...

Oh...It was missing some bridge saddles so I used a matched set from one of the 222s that I had sitting in my parts box.

I'll keep it next to my bed.
Part of my bedroom set up.
When I feel lousy I like to have little guitars to play while I'm lying down.

That baby ML looks like a metal yook-a-lay-lee. WAY cool.

I may need to track one down so I can play all those great Don Ho tunes through the Carvin half stack.
