I think I just joined a pretty exclusive club... I'm now the second owner. It's been sitting in a case for 30 years according to first owner. Pretty much mint so no reason to think otherwise. Feel pretty darn lucky this popped up 5 miles from where I live... My understanding is only a few of the "deluxe" firestorms were ever made. Xhefri guitars has a pretty nice write up on these.

It's an amazing guitar from the rarity to the looks and sonic possibilities. Pretty incredible!

Wow; that is definitely a unicorn! Very, very few legit Firestorms out there - that finish was only around for about a year. Very few Tele Plus Deluxes either; this combination is incredibly rare.

Nice - I think Mike Houser from widespread panic played one back in the day

VERY cool! Lucky you!

I had a chance in 1992, to buy a Tele Plus in the same color as yours. I didn't have enough cash to buy it outright, and I waffled about trying to put it on layaway. I went back to the guitar shop a few days later (after payday) to buy it, and it was gone. :( I never saw another Tele Plus, and the Peavey Generation I bought instead of it, was a poor substitute IMO.

Congratulations on the biggest conversation piece you've ever purchased! lol

It's definitely unique and now a piece of Fender history really. I've never even heard of that model so thanks for the education. lol

Awesome

I’ve seen them for sale but this is the first time I’ve ever noticed the trem

Did the first owner never learn to play? Have an accident or something?

I’d be concerned there’s a reason why it was never played
