I had a free weekend and have finally got down to building the parts TeleMaster for the singer in my band, Zach. It is a birthday present from his wife (who paid for the parts) and me.

The biggest challenge was making my first pickguard from a blank. Took ages, and a couple of aborted attempts before I got it right. HAd some terrible problems with the neck pickup and 4-way wiring, and eventually went back to 3-way.

    Here are the specs:
    Type: Custom Parts build
    Model Name: Surf-o-Telemaster
    Model Number: Moogy 002
    Colors: Surf green
    Body: USACG custom made Jazzmaster
Neck: WD C-shape, late '60s big headstock strat
    Fingerboard: Rosewood, 9.5"Radius (241 mm)
No. of Frets: 22 Medium Jumbo Frets
Pickups: Fender Vintage Reissue Bridge, Nocaster neck
Controls: 250K Master Volume and Tone
    Pickup Switching: 3-Position Blade
    Position 1. Bridge Pickup
Position 2. Bridge Pickup in Parallel with Neck Pickup
    Position 3. Neck Pickup
Bridge: Wilkinson ashtray with compensated brass saddles
Machine Heads: Fender branded Kluson vintage split post
    Hardware: Chrome
    Pickguard: Custom made 2-Ply pearloid
    Scale Length: 25.5" (648 mm)
Width at Nut: 1.6875" (43 mm)
Unique Features: flat-top '60s style knobs, '50s tele switch tip, chrome arrow mounting plate for neck pickup, round '50s Tele string tree, Schaller strap-locks, Corian nut, hand-rolled rolled fingerboard edges, electro-socket jack
    Strings: Gibson Vintage Reissue (11-50)
Accessories: Custom made guitar/harmonica mic switching box with tone control for mic channel (not yet built. Zach, who the guitar is for, is also a harp player and wants to use one amp for harp and guitar)

Love it. That "chrome arrow mounting plate for neck pickup" looks like something you'd find on an old speed boat; retro with a fast look to it.
