Maybe it's called that because it's so bad, the best thing to do with it is prop your hatchback open.

Or pick it up and jauntily swagger around your home prancing in front of a mirror. Strut your stuff guitar man! (Incidentally I corrected at least 5 finger slurs before posting this).

The Squier Strut is what happens when you give Chuck Berry a Squier to play on stage.

It would look great hanging on the wall in a bar, up high enough that you can not tell what it is, just that it's a Strat - I mean Strut.
I have an old Squire P-Bass (with a neck so warped it's unusable, and unfixable) as a wall ornament in my basement practice space. Looks great!

:D I used to occasionally drop into a karaoke bar night several decades ago, where a "regular" would perform his "gig" doing White Snake songs "air guitaring" an obviously unplayable Squier Strat, then sit alone at a table polishing it while waiting for his turn to come back up.

It was actually difficult not to laugh at the sad sack, but I always make an effort to be nice. He had the guts to get up and do his bit. I wouldnt think of it.

And fwiw, they arent all that bad. I have a Squire strat that with a lot of work became a fair guitar. A Squire Tele that isnt too bad, and a Squire (Jag I think?) Bass thats actually quite nice. All came my way free or very inexpensively, so I adopted them into the family.

Now, I might consider making up a batch of Strutocaster decals though... Hmmm

Why speculate? The store staff are available for a question.

Years ago I used to search for guitars on eBay by misspelling their names. I was often surprised by how few people were watching those auctions, and occasionally I got some great deals because no one else was bidding.

Pick it up and jauntily swagger around your home prancing in front of a mirror all while playing "Cissy Strut" with the volume at 11.

My "rocker god" friend has one of these, just like this one in fact, as his backup on stage. It's banged up from years of gigs. Picked it up for 50 bucks at a pawn shop. Plays that thing stock and makes it sound like a 10K CS! LOL!!!

On a tangent there is one Squire I'd love to have...a early 1980's medium scale Squire P Bass.

Squier Strut.jpg Rare footage of the Squier Strut in action. Most of you have never seen this, I'm willing to bet.

Like the sign in our chippy ‘Rissole and chips £2.50’ . Drunk wandered in one night, squinted up at the sign and asked for ‘pissole and chips’. The guy behind the counter explained, ‘that’s not a P it’s an R’. WTF’, came the inebriated reply ‘I’ll have r sole and chips’.

    Goodnight.
