I've shared a few pictures that I drawn here. One was of an unfinished drawing of George Jones I started back in June 2014, just a few weeks before the passing of my father. I didn't touch it for 5 years until this past June when I finished, finally. Forgot to share it here because I said at the time when I finished it I would update it here.

I have at least two methods of how I approach drawings (the very few I do anymore). One is less precise, more spontaneous and free form kind of way. The other way is a more meticulous, time consuming kind of way. This one is of the second way.

Anyway, not the best quality picture and it took exactly 5 years but here it is.

Edit: The more I look at the drawing, the more I think I'm not actually finished with it. I think part of me was just so ready to be done with it after it sitting for 5 years, that I called it finished knowing it wasn't quiet there.

The details in the side burns and neck are like a photograph really neat

    You may be overthinking it.
You've caught the essence of the picture, which I feel is the aim.
I like how you've done the hair.
Bit spooky having him looking straight at you - like I'm starting a staring competition I cannot win.

That drawing is tremendous. If I may represent him for a moment, I'd like to say I am sure your father would be proud.

Dont put the pencil down! Or whatever medium you prefer. That's a great drawing. Ive always loved drawing since I was a kid and find it a great outlet to shift to when I need to get some creativity flowing. Hopefully you'll do more and keep sharing them. You have a lot of talent based on this picture. Thanks for sharing.

I think it IS finished. Leave it alone, he looks like the LEGEND, rather than the guy in the picture. You actually have captured what George was. What was he? Why the Greatest Country Singer of All Time, that's what.

Anyone can become a decent artist. Google 2 things..principles of art and elements of art. If you study a little to understand these you can do art that will be valid. No different than learning to play guitar.

You've done the "Possum" good capturing that 80's look. He was to Country Music as Elvis was to Rock Music; both voices unique, often imitated but never matched.

That looks great, the hair looks so realistic.
I might hit you up to draw some hair like that on my head in a few years time.:)
