Hey all,

So I want to start recording my practice session (just me), also be able to play silently with headphones while using Cubase and Helix Native software which i already have.

Just like everything else, everyone has their favorite Audio interface. I want to keep it sub $150, and seem to be focusing on the UA Volt 1, unless the Volt 176 goes on sale for black Friday.. The added compressor is cool, but I am not making studio tracks :)

I basically want to know if the UA Volt 1 has any showstoppers with regards to compatibility with software or anything else?

Thanks All!

I think any interface in that price range will be fine for what you're doing. main thing to look for is stability, customer support (driver upgrades, etc.) and reliability.

The Volt 176 is a higher build quality than the Volt 1 and the compressor is more than worth the price difference. Both are nice... but I'd try and find the little extra cash if it were me.

Thank you, since posting this thread, I have read and watched countless reviews and demos of various AI, and I think I am homing in on the Audient EVO 4.

I like that it plays well with Mac/ PC, flexible with plugins, has more inputs that can be used together, and can be powered and run off an iPad (maybe a cool travel practice rig)
