Anything by Larry Pierce.
Dinah Washington had a couple.
One was called "Big Long Slidin' Thing" (about her man, a trombone player)
Another was about "Long John" the dentistist. She sings 'how you thrill me when you drill me..."
The Jack - AC/DC.
I'm talking Bon scott era, live - lyrics that make my mother blush.
A fave of mine is by R.L. Burnside, Skinny Woman
"Don't want no skinny woman,
Don't want no skinny woman.
Meat don't shake,
Meat don't shake."
Dean, you mean the one that goes, "she wobbles when she walks" ?
"********** blues" by the Rolling Stones. (hmmm, swear filter! ""Male Chicken" sucker blues"
I believe they recorded it as a middle finger to the record company as they were contractually obliged to release on more song for the lable.
"Stand up in it" by Theodis Ealey
It actually is a pretty good uptempo song along with the suggestive lyrics.
"The Lemon Song" Led Zep
"My BAby Don't Wear No Panties" i forget who does it.
lot's of dirty stuff out there! i love old irish drinking songs and sea shantys! they all talk about boozin' and whorin' but never actually say "boozin and whorin". they are very good at addressing "sailors issues" in a very circumspect and poetic way....if you know what i mean!
If that's just about a mule, "Little Red Rooster" is just about a rooster and "King Snake" is just about a snake.
Some writers make careers out of stating the obvious. Metaphors like those are such a no-brainers they're plankton.
But to answer the question -
I like a lot of Maria Muldaur's material - "Don't You Squeeze My Thigh" and "It Ain't the Meat, It's the Motion" are hoots.
Big Joe Turner was pretty raw. In fact, most of the old jump blues artists were.
I recently heard an old, old (''30's? '40's?) X-rated version of "Mama Don't Allow." and the raunchiest tunes I've ever heard were sung by Taj Mahal and Etta James, but I don't know their names. Sorry. Guess I'm a bit of a plankton myself...
Old bessie smith tune
You Got the Right Key but the Wrong Key Hole
Funkadelic's When in Doubt Vamp, Nappy Dugout, Backstage Pass, Jimmy's got a little bit of B*tch in Him
Which combines "Killin' Floor" with Johnson's "Traveling Riverside Blues" (the lemon in "The Lemon Song" and also covered by LZ).
I just heard "Shave 'em Dry" by Lucille Brogan the other day! Almost made me blush. Haha!
"You Can Leave Your Hat On" by Randy Newman
nails the dirty old man vibe. Eerie.
Lots of great song titles here. Thanks! I love the innuendo as well. Good stuff. The only song I could think of was The Lemon Song by Zep.
I wrote one in college the title of which had the initials SOMF... it was disgusting. I'd sing it in the coffee house on campus and all the ladies would walk out... I usually had a few beers before getting to that song (I really needed to)... all the guys sang along.
That sounds like Lucille Bogan Shave 'Em Dry. As I recall, she's singing this bit about "steeple" and "people", and she's obviously reading the lyrics as she's singing them, and she can't believe what's written and almost cracks up.
Yeah...I bet that's the one.
It seemed like she was reading.
Very funny...the lyrics would make a longshoreman blush.
I was in a little bar in Cozumel a few years ago when "Back Door Man" came on. I noticed the owner closing his eyes and playing a little air guitar, so I complimented him on his taste in music. He spoke no English, so he asked me to translate the lyrics for him. When I did, his eyes widened and he asked if it was proper to play such a nasty song with women present. I assured him nobody would mind.
Tons of tasty tidbits out there. A few of my favorites.
Gotta agree with Shave 'Em Dry by Bessie Jackson (Lucille Bogan)
Toothache Blues - Victoria Spivey & Lonnie Johnson
I'll Keep Sittin' On It (If I Can't Sell It) - Georgia White
Whats That Smells Like Fish - Blind Boy Fuller
My Daddy Rocks Me - Tampa Red
Winin' Boy - Jelly Roll Morton
I will not be your fool...I think its the version from How late ya playin til?
Terribly bad lyrics, lots of cussin, but may fav for blues guitar playing...
That guy can really play
