Thinking of filtertrons for a new build (pinecaster). TV Jones....$130 each, or so; Ebay "same as in cabronita" $65/pr; Chinese version, $40/pr.; "sonotrons" $100/pr.; SDuncan $160/pair.
What to do? Comments from those with first hand knowledge of some of these is appreciated.

Fidelitrons are very close to Gretsch having been both developed by TV Jones. Main difference is the machine screws, which changes inductance a bit - they're a bit woolier by all accounts. Gauss and DCr is peas in a pod.

They don't have mounting ears like genuine Filtertrons.

The Blacktop Filters aren't - they're pretty much conventional hummers in a toastertop cover.

You can buy genuine 'Gretsch' for around $140 a set I've seen.

Anything with higher DCr than 4 kohm will start to sound less Gretsch and more 'bucker.

I used the original ceramic FTs in my Setzer and fitted them with A4 and A2 magnets. They sound pretty much like new High Sensitivity pickups, which is the post-2003 Fender name for Filtertrons.

No experience with comparable offerings, but the TV Jones Classics are pretty nice on my partscaster. It’s a unique sound. One thing I noticed was that they answer their phone and provide helpful advice at TVJ. I appreciated that.

    I like TV Jones best.
I have my them in three of my guitars.
    They’re worth what they cost.
I think they are priced reasonably.
