First some neck pockets won’t allow the neck to sit correctly, this is typical on cheap guitars.
The saddles being in an optimal position plays much better for palm muting, the strings won’t be too close to the pickguard, it tailors to fingerpickers and anyone who palm mutes, al di meola all the way to country and many styles of metal.
The second setup took me ten minutes including taking pictures. The workflow is important and helps me do a passionate job.
A router will be on the way someday but filing the pocket sounds ideal and would be another thing that makes my style different and I can offer more services.
