Now begins what should be years of no new Beatles reissues but - the big Beatles marketing machine is never to be underestimated...

55th anniversary of some record anyone ?

    How about 60th ?

Not a question of “if”, simply a matter of “when”...o_O

One more thing to make me feel old. Glad Paul and Ringo are still with us.

Those two records ? As ubiquitous as the smell of electric rollers in my house growing up. (7 sisters)

Or , focus on a truly great upcoming 50th anniversary. Everybody at their peak, Moon ? Holy crap. Townshend making a simple SG Special into about 4 different guitars on each song...

Maybe a little more time in the studio might have helped

It's a shame that they felt that they couldn't play live anymore. It had just become such a drag. It would have been interesting to hear them attempt stripped down versions of their later music. Strawberry Fields, for example.

They obviously liked performing live, as they demonstrated after the breakup. Paul & Ringo in particular.

Given that he'd died two or three years earlier:

They've made far more $ in the half century apart than they ever did as a working entity. Macca in particular. He owns the rights to many songs that most aren't even aware of.

Sad part is, he lost the rights to the ones that matter to him most. :(
