We take it for granted now but it was an incredible feat for its time. Hell, actually for the current time as well. They landed in a bucket of bolts with an onboard computer that only had a numeric keypad!!!

The amount of technology that was developed during the space program was incredible. It offers a lesson for us today that seems to be poorly understood.

Yes, it showed how gullible and naive people were and how the deep state and the media could manipulate the masses with fake news.

Ahh, but the Soviets agreed to go along with the hoax if we shared all the data from the Moon with them and gave them a couple of rocks.
Let me put on my nutcase beanie...

"Well that's easy to explain. The world is flat and the edge of the world is bordered by Antarctica by the ice wall. Since the has to be protected by the nations of the world otherwise the elites will lose their power for....reasons.
Since the cost of this is extremely exorbitant, the US simply offered to pickup more of the cost.
Oh yeah...the Cold War was fake too. I mean sure 'they' said we were on both sides. I've got some pamphlets about how the US Department of Fisheries is crossing human DNA with freshwater bass if you're interested.

What, no one going to mention that the lunar lander was made out of aluminum foil? It is! I saw it at the National Air and Space museum. It matched the hat I was wearing. :);)

Back then there was this thing called "journalism"! I wasn't old enough to analyze it but between Cronkite, Huntley and Brinkley, et al but know it was not as polarized as today.

Furthermore newspapers were much more trusted.

NOW is the time to recognize how gullible and naive people ARE and how the deep state and the media DOES manipulate the masses with fake news.

the reason why is the elimination of the fairness doctrine. look up who was behind that and supported it and you'll see why we are where we are.

Smith-Mundt was still in full effect in 1969, it wasn’t tampered with yet.

To just bring this back to music for a sec, I think this is all just a gross misunderstanding. The OP was obviously referring to Neil Young not Neil Armstrong. After writing the song Albuquerque he continues west and ended up in Arizona … after rolling a number and renting a car the Buzz was just all in his head.

1A.....

While it's clearly gone off the rails the feds governing what can and can't be said is more distressing. In instances such as NPR/PBS YES there should be oversight as WE pay for that but if you want to start a radio station and discuss conspiracy and giant poops.......:D

It's simply incumbent among us to THINK! When I was presented with fake moon landing I did my research and considered the facts.

Obviously the rise of disinformation coincides with the internet.

My point is not theoretical. Look at what happened to journalism once it lost the fairness doctrine and became a profit center....

Woodrow Wilson's cabinet did the research and proved that marketing absolutely works on ALL PEOPLE. ALL PEOPLE... and Roy Cohn taught strategies, that odious though they may be, they are 100% effective.

Journalism is a drunk teenager behind the wheel with no seatbelt on, looking at this phone on a road that desperately needs repair. Clearly, some regulations and enforcement would be helpful in this case.

Your last line is incorrect. The meltdown of information and news ended with the end of the fairness doctrine. Were it still in place, folks even on the internet would have to abide.

The rise of hate radio was the beginning... that was when the fairness doctrine ended.
