My wife and I were having dinner with two of our dear friends on the evening the momentous undertaking of landing on the moon occurred. If it was a hoax over a half billion people were fooled. Our little boy was not quite five years old my wife was pregnant with our daughter. It was a great time in life for us, I remember the evening well.

We were at the opposite ends of the spectrum of science that day. The folks we were dining with were the proud owners of a small farm outside Bakersfield proper.

Knowing how people are, I'm pretty sure something that impacted so many if it were fake at least nine hundred people who had to have known about it, wouldn't have waited to write a book about it, they would have been blabbing on the eleven o'clock news that night. It's just human nature.

I know too many people directly involved with those adventures to even joke or allow for nonsense. The moon landing is as real as the DDay landing.

I don't know what makes people lie about celebrities and major events in history they don't seem to be able to help themselves. I've worked with guys who would have rather to have climbed a forty-foot pole to tell a lie, than to stand on the ground and just tell the truth.

YouTube is full of manufactured obituaries of people who are still very much alive. What motivates liars like that? On second thought forget it, I don't even want to know.

What a stupid position, arguing that the moon landing was faked. We only had a decade of manned space flights individually and collectively testing all of the human abilities and mechanical inventions necessary to do it before actually doing it.

So far as I am aware, doubt has been cast only on the initial moon landing. There are plausible reasons put forward for the US wanting to fake it and plausible methods for doing so. There are also those who whole heartedly believe that everything we were told that happened took place exactly as shown. I can see the case for both arguments and, as such, have an open mind.
Beyond that, there are those that believe neigh on every single moon landing was faked. That I don’t get, for one thing no one has put forward a reason why the US would see the need to do so over and over.
Many views, all with varying levels of credulity to everyone else.
There are a few people who know. The rest of us may never find out who they are, nor whether we can believe them.

What’s not plausible are closed mouths.

Especially really smart people who think they’re actually helping a manned rocket to get to the moon.

You don’t think those people figure it out somehow, and only the higher-ups/those in power know the fix is in ?

The scientists, physicists, engineers are smart, they’re problem-solvers, and some general or cabinet official is going to pull the wool over their eyes?

And if someone figured it out or dozens of people figured it out, how are you gonna keep them quiet?

The Soviets would have known if the transmissions from the astronauts were coming from anywhere other than where they were supposed to be, which is one of the easiest points to make. And they were also tracking the rocket.
