You are right, Fender doesn't even say that about the pickups!! Good catch....

I know, we should be used to the disappointment by now. I always get excited when I see Fender releasing a new lineup and hope & pray they throw us a bone or two.

But not today. Foiled again :(

Actually it's only the 50s Modified Strat that has those damned self-locking crapfest tuners - just like the Classic Player 50s Strat. The 60s Modified Strat has normal split post tuners (as did the Classic Player 60s Strat). I hate those self-locking tuners with a passion - they are awkward to use, tend to slip a bit before the tuner "grabs" the string, and you typically have to unlock them with a coin to change strings. I've had that style tuner in both the Kluson-style and a Grover style, and hated them both.

I would pay more for it to not have locking tuners but shouldn't have to. I hate all locking tuners.
Split post only. Fender, are you listening?:)

I like the orange tint, especially when compared to the sickly pale maple necks on some Fenders.

Are you? If I’m following, multiple folks have already noted that the Teles are vintage style.

That message was to Fender about all their models and locking tuners in general, yes I noticed it was pointed out that the tele's were immune from the dreaded locking tuners. Why did I have to point out to you that my reply was aimed at Fender stating my hatred of locking tuners?

As always, the most left-handed discriminatory guitar company does not disappoint.

    Pathetic!

Are they not doing left handed versions?
I rarely see a left handed guitar in a demo or review.

Fender doesn’t care. Most players I know view locking tuners as a plus. I’m not one of them. But maybe consider they know their market.

The most tempting offer fender have had recently has been the classic series lacquer with tweed case. They should offer a 9.5 radius on that model.

They give us a few models and colors, but no where near the options righties have. As an example, Fender currently offers 122 right handed models. They offer 10 lefty models

I think Fender manipulate the pricings by varying the specs of all their models. Locking tuners on a traditional style fender seem out of place to me. I see them more as a nuisance than an upgrade. They should save them for the modern style or pointy guitars imo.

I think the majority of fender buyers just want a real standard strat or tele as they were in the 50's 60's but with a choice of different neck radiuses and fret sizes. The price should be the same across the board.

...and everyone called it. It's slightly more pricy.

Fender's new Vintera series is riding this wave of vintage fascination, so each era (50s, 60s and 70s) has period correct pickups, neck profile, etc.

I haven't looked at all of them thoroughly yet, but the 60s Tele had 4-way switching and an S1 switch.

    https://shop.fender.com/en-US/elect...ntera-60s-telecaster-modified/0149893373.html

It appears that the 60s vintage modified and 50s modified are the only two with 4-way switching and S1. The vintage 50s and 60s with Bigsby don't.
