Amen. And why can't they offer the 72 Tele Thinline with a modern radius? Dang, lost opportunity to sell me on one of these.

Appears to be that the 'Vintera 50's Modified' is the Baja replacement - 9.5 radius, V shape

and the 'Vintera 50's' is the Classic Player replacement - 7.25 radius, U shape

I think this is the Baja 50s replacement. The S1 switch is gone and it has the new MIM deep U profile neck.

    At Anderton's

    Here's the entire Vintera line

I had a nice light one, and the orange wasn't too bad early on (2014 model). I stupidly sold it thinking I'd get a '58 AV, then they did away with those too.

the vintera 50's and 60's are replacing the classic series. the "modified" is replacing the classic player series, which includes the bajas. all with pickup improvements and necks are thicker across the board.

im selling gear right now to get the 50's modded tele in daphne blue. so good.

I found my revoiced WRHB in my '18 Thin Skin Custom to be severely lacking. Nothing like the WRHBs in my '74 Deluxe.

There are many better HBs out there. But none that I've had that match the smooth high end of the original WRHB.

Sounds like a good name for a Mitsubishi or Suzuki compact minivan.

Those are very nice Jazzmasters; they were 50th anniversary models it for 2018. It seems like they were also more expensive than the Vintera modified originally, but got reduced $200 toward the end of the year. So yes, you're getting a bit less for the same money, but Fender is taking a price increase over the outgoing Classic/Classic Players.

If I'm remembering correctly the MAP on Classic/Classic Players had pretty much held steady for 4-5 years - Fender took a $25 price increase for rosewood in 2017 when the tighter CITES regulations started (and kept the increase when they switched to Pau Ferro) but maple board ones from these series stayed the same until this past January when they got the $25 to match the Pau Ferro versions pricing.

    How so?

To me, it sounds like a word invented to make it easier to google.

So is this series replacing the 50s Classic and 60s Classic lines?

Bummer the modified version has locking tuners and switching.
I would have preferred just a change of radius and frets.

I was interested up until the locking tuner part. Looks like i'll have to stick with partscasters.
They are cheaper and I get nitro and personal preference of tint etc as well.

tuners are very easy and cheap to replace. you can probably sell the stock ones and get your money back too.

    Uh-oh,

Somebody at Musician's Friend is gonna lose their job because of this straight-up lie in their ad copy:

"Fender has re-voiced a new version to be every closer to the original for the Vintera series, including using the original spec CuNiFe (Copper-Nickel-Iron) magnets."

    And
"Dual Fender Wide Range humbuckers with original spec CuNiFe magnets"

    https://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/fender-vintera-70s-telecaster-deluxe-electric-guitar

I see quite a few justifiably angry returns in their future.

I can have tru oil neck in custom tint, nitro body and no need to change things out for less money anyway. Doesn't seem worth buying one of these for me and having to change tuners and wiring.

Now did they say a Vintera pickup *has* CuNiFe magnets, or that the re-voicing process *used* CuNiFe? The process could involve waving magic crystals, but the crystals are not a permanent part of the pickup
