Any opinions on these? I tried out an American Pro Tele a few months ago and they felt weird to me. Do they just take some getting used to? Anybody love them? Hate 'em?

    Aren't they essentially 6105s?

It might have been the neck that felt weird, if that's the case, because I usually like 6105s.

Got dimensions? Frets are pretty simple animals to analyze...

Though the 6105 label is probably more confusing than useful, because I've seen all sizes of frets lumped as 6105...

Nope. No idea. They're just described as being "vintage" width with "extra height."

Yep. What height are we talking about? I call .046 normal. Had one guitar with .059 and hated it.

Maybe it was the "deep C" neck profile that I didn't care for after all.

And width? I'm sensitive to width more than height. If too high, a good level fixes it. If too wide... too bad...

I like something around .040 x .080, ideally. .050 tall is fine (ish), but .095 is yuck.

I didn't ask about the width, but I remember them being fairly skinny.

Wow, the Elite height makes no sense. Those are super low, just a wider version of vintage Martin frets, or the old AVRI frets that so many people disliked. Gotta wonder if the Fender rep got that right...

That’s right. They’re Medium Jumbo on the Elites. I cross referenced his measurements as well.

You just have to lighten up your touch with the tall narrows. A good exercise in concentration until it becomes natural.

    I have a Deluxe Nashville(tall narrows/12" radius).

I just got a Am Pro Tele about a week go, before that, I only played on vintage style frets with a 7.25 radius.

First impressions were that it was a bit strange feeling when going up and down the neck doing scales, but I actually liked the height after a few minutes adjusting my touch because I vibrato a lot. You do need to ease up a bit but I didn't think it was an issue. I personally love the new Deep C and narrow tall frets. I do not have giant hands, I usually play on 60's style necks but I do prefer them to be more "meatier" than thinner. I don't find 50's size baseball bat necks comfy, so you can use that for reference.

I liked them at first. And I loved the C neck. After a few weeks however the frets started to bug me, and I kept gravitating back to my 90s Tele Plus. Med/jumbo with 9 1/2 radius works best for me.

They feel like G&Ls. I can’t get with tall frets.

I have a Fender Deluxe Nashville and love it. May be the frets or the 12" radius neck but whatever it is it's the best playing guitar I've ever had. I've been a Gibson guy for many years but this Tele....Wow! My 2016 Nashville Telecaster.jpg
