Anyone have this one? I have a great s/c bridge, humbucker neck tele, and this seems to be a great compliment to that. I could see me swapping pickups if the bridge just drastically overpowered the neck. Thoughts or reviews?

Guess they didn't sell many. I've never seen one in person.

So, if you wanted this set up, what would be your best game plan to achieve it? Best mod platform with proper routing? The hard part is the bridge. I've seen tele bridge plates that accommodate humbuckers, but like that little hard tail better. Pickups are subjective. Pots and wiring is a concern since s/c pickups want 250k, humbuckers 500k.

Really? They were a GC exclusive thing; I'm surprised your local GC doesn't have any of them. The one here still has at least one - but it's been dropped a few times and they are only knocking $100 off it even though it's got a big gash in between the strap pin and the output jack. They keep getting in the corresponding Strat models, but never got any more of the Teles in stock. I guess you could always get one sent in to your local GC - that way if you try it out and don't like it you can get your money refunded. They are kind of like a modded American Special body with an American Standard neck.

Because of the damage and the price I've not plugged that one it up. Back in early 2014 I did try one out a bit, but wound up getting an American Standard instead because I discovered that I really wanted a Tele with a bridge single coil before venturing into the humbucker realm. I don't know if they used the same pickups for the 2015 run as they did for the 2013 run, but the 2013 wasn't a really ultra hot humbucker - something in the "overwound PAF" spectrum as opposed to the "DiMarzio Supuerdistortion" spectrum.

Thanks! Shocker, I try to stay out of Guitar Center. Prefer several smaller shops, but mostly Craigslist. If they're a GC exclusive(didn't know that) I may have to go see if I can get my hands on one!

I have one and love it. The balance between the pickups is great when the S1 switch is engaged for splitting the humbucker. The bridge PU is definitely in the vintage output range, like a PAF.

Do you know what neck pickup is in it(specs)? Does it have a 4 way switch or a push pull pot for the coil tap?

Fender never really has released the pickup specs on these. The one I tried had a 3-way switch and the S-1 was to split the humbucker. Again, that one was from the 2013 run; I never did plug in the 2015 one our GC has in stock because it was damaged and they wouldn't go below $899 on it.

I have one and its a great guitar. The neck is the same as my American Standard, and the tuners are good too. The pickups are no name fenders, so I put Seymour Duncans in mine. Then I put a 500k volume pot in. Changed the 3 way switch to the deluxe switch and top hat.

I just grabbed one of these USA Professional Tele's. (White with maple fretboard.) Found it for $799 on guitarcenter.com. It came with a $80 Guitar Center gift card rebate offer. So my net cost was $719. (I'm ignoring the sales tax that I also paid!) I thought I'd give it a try - mostly because I had read it has a fairly chunky neck.

It does seems a little backwards because I have always seen the humbucker in the neck position. But maybe it will still sound cool. I'm curious about maybe dropping another humbucker in - replacing the single coil in the neck. But for now I'll give it a listen and see how it sounds!

Renewing this thread. Just picked one of these up used for a great price. Never had a tele type guitar before, but loving it so far! I got one of the sunburst ones, but here is a link from Musicians Friend with their “specs”:

Noice! That's a cool pickup configuration. If I found one I'll probly snag it.

I don't got that one, but I got the reverse a that setup, SC bridge and HB neck on a Performer.

I got the cheap Squier version of this in a holiday/loss leader sale for about a hundred bucks; it's not nearly as nice as the MF one---I'd probably leave one of those stock---but here's how my cheapie ended up:

My uncle has a Highway 1 Tele where the previous owner installed a tiny Seymour Duncan humbucker in the bridge (either a Pearly Gates or Little '59). I borrowed it so I could sit in with him, and I was initially suggesting to him that we should put a single coil back in the bridge, but by the end of the gig I loved it. I'm pretty sure it splits the humbucker in the middle position (which sounded great), and then the bridge was hot and fat sounding compared to a standard Tele. After the gig I told him I wouldn't change a thing about that guitar.

So with the right PU combination and wiring, I'm a big fan!
