Just picked one of these up as a project (and damned near dropped the heavy beast!). Solid, MIJ, would certainly help a pickup truck in need of winter traction... Any love here? Mine's the 212 - or will be when I put speakers in.

I had one - it was a good amp -though I had to repair the input jack. Solid construction but a little heavy. Wish I still had it!

OK, well I finally had some time to spend with the old gal today, dropped in a cool vintage speaker, plugged in the power cable, placed my safety goggles firmly over my forehead, grabbed a fire extinguisher, flipped the switch and... Wished I'd brought a guitar! However, it made all the right noises when I rubbed my fingers over the jack on the guitar cable! ;-) Actually, the full tank reverb was really rich with that fingerprint sound (MP3 soon to be available on Amazon).

Got a question, seriously, before I plug in and whang away: The speaker that was in it had wires dangling off of it so that it was obviously meant to be wired to the next speaker in PARALLEL, which, considering it's an 8 ohm, would make a 4 ohm load if I'm not mistaken (8/2). However, the only schem I can find says 8 ohm minimum - which I'm betting is the schem for the 112 and not the 212. As I said, I'm betting, but I don't really want to bet my output transformer or my speakers on it!

Any wisdom, oh ye priests of the Fender altar? Are 212's typically wired for 4 ohm? Help? Please?

I've got a Stage Lead from the early '80s. I've abused the heck out of it for nearly thirty years, and it keeps on cooking. Aside from being LOUD, it's got a tone that when paired with a lightly-strung Strat that will mow grass for a hundred yards.

Sweet geebus! I swung by with an Epi DOT just to see if the thing was working - told my wife I'd be back in a few minutes. Two hours later I just stumbled back in... I don't know what happened to the time - could have been aliens, but I believe I was just swept away to nirvana for a brief period.

This amp positively sings. I mean... Wow! This may convert me from being a tube snob. The cleans are so... sweet. Fenderific!
