    Hi all, my first post

so I bought a player tele (secondhand) and decided on a few mods - and ended up changing everything to build the tele I wanted - tbh I was contemplating buying a pro II or elite but thought I would do it a different way.
I have used mainly fender bits except the 4 way switch - so here are the mods:
    • Fender locking tuners
    • Fender strap locks
    • Fender rolling string tree
    • Obsidian 4 way switch
    • Fender custom shop twisted tele pickups
    • Fender vintage control knobs
    • Fender vintage 3 saddle bridge plate
    • Compensated brass saddles
    • Shielded the pick guard - copper and grounded
    • Bullseye pick guard
    • Skb hardcase.
I think I have managed to set it up reasonably (thanks to a lot of information on here) but will get it professionally set up in a couple of weeks.

I’m very pleased with it - look and playerbility - I think I have built (put together really) al lifer !

    - just have to learn to play it now !

Nice work. Very cool Tele. Is the Bullseye meant to be a tribute to The Who, or to Eddie Vedder? Or neither?

The Spitfire was a famous WWII plane.

Bit of The Who, The Jam - called it spitfire because I’ve used vintage and modern bits making it easy to change strings and even pickups if I wanted to voice it differently - so easy to get it battle ready ! - As with the spitfire it was all about getting the re-fulled re-armed and back in the air asap

FWIW the symbol on the side of a plane is a roundel. Now the enemy may use it as a bullseye but there's no need to encourage them! Either way, have fun playing that good-looking guitar.

I think that is a pretty damn cool Tele. Which Laney is that? My VC-30 with a Tele has been a first choice for recording lately.

I like it! I'm a sucker for a white guitar. I have a white strat arriving tomorrow!

I always think of a Tele as more of a Hurricane- slower, tougher, cheaper and easier to build, easier to work on. ;)

My uncle (RIP) flew Spitfires in the RCAF. He died in a training accident in Wales in 1941.

Now all you need is a suit and a Lambretta. Rock it.

Nice! Now you need a row of black crosses below the control plate (what's a Spitfire without at least five Me 109s to its credit?). Back in the seventies I had a friend that had a Spitfire that he had painted a camo pattern and had a pair of RAF rondels on the rear fenders and a line of five VW beetle silhouettes on the front fenders- very cool IMHO.

I was also expecting the guitar to be green or something, but it's nice as it is.

I agree, the Stratocaster is more like the Spitfire. Flashier with all the bells and whistles, more popular, but the Hurricane did the brunt of the work.
