Came across used original version fender rumble 100 for $160. The new v3 a b-stock can be had for around $240 brand new $299. Would it be worth spending the extra 80-140 bucks for a new one?

If money is not an issue, I would probably go for the new one. I would also probably go for the Peavey over the Fender.

After trying a bunch the best one was the peavey 200watt. It was the lightest one as well. The old fender rumble must weigh close to 70lbs. The peavey is around 40

On Ebay there's a Peavy Max 115 Bass combo for $200 or best offer. It has a 300watt head into a 15" woofer with tweeter.

At my age, weight and tone are the key factors in my amp selection. I owned an earlier Rumble, the one with LEDs that glow as you play. Not fussy on the tone of those. I now own a 40 Watt (practice) and 200 Watt (gigs) Rumble v3 amps. They are light!! and they have the tone I go for. In fact the 3 push buttons plus EQ give many tone options and I don't even use the distortion controls.
Yes, the Peaveys and others have attractive prices, used, but they weigh a whole lot more.
If the amp you try out is loud enough, that's ok. Specs and sales info can be initially misleading. My 200 Watt Rumble only delivers 200 Watts if used with an extension cabinet. I find it has lots of power on its own and I use the XLR to PA.
Satisfy yourself that the 100 Watt Rumble gives you the power you want and need.

I also have a Rumble 100 (old LED version) and with the XLR out to the PA you should have plenty of power to use it as a stage monitor and let the house drive (if they have decent subs) the bass through the PA.

I will say that my rumble is not easy on the back though...
