Well, my 20-year-old 50s Classic needed a new neck. I thought about a refret, but that's a big cost in comparison. So, I ordered a 50s Reissue neck from Fender. And, I was really impressed with the product. So, I thought I'd share my results with the team. 1) Nice grain, no knots or warts. 2) No orange finish. 3) Impeccable finish. 4) Nice profile - a tad more girth than a CV or US-Special. 5) No poly build-up at the base of the frets as is sometimes the factory norm. 6) Very nice & level fretwork. 7) Fender Brand "single-line" tuners and bushings fit without reaching for a file. 8) Tuner screw holes and neck mounting holes are pre-drilled. 9) Nice nut, shaped nicely. Not sure what the material is. Required slot-depth adjustment. 10) Factory fit - no sanding or tweaking required. So, if anyone is thinking about replacing a neck, I was very pleased with this neck. My old 50s Classic (MN8XXXXX) is good as new. And, a treat to play.
