Hello. I'll make it short. The Fender Player II. Why didn't Fender offer a black Tele - or Strat, single coils, with a rosewood fretboard? Also, I can't find a Coral Red Tele with a rosewood fret board, which would be my second choice to buy. They do have a chambered Tele with a red color variation in Transparent Cherry, but not what I need. Am I missing a link somewhere that has the above guitar(s)? I didn't see them in Fender's photo gallery, so maybe they don't exist? Thanks in advance.

If you didn't see them in the gallery on the product pages then the combination doesn't exist. Fender typically only offers one fingerboard wood per color on the Player models - they might pick one or possibly 2 colors where they offer both maple and rosewood fingerboards. It looks like you can get the polar white Strat with either fingerboard wood.

Often wondered why, with a guitar that is essentially simply bolted together, they don't do what car manufacturers do, Place your order and they just put the body colour you want with the neck you want? Not brain science or rocket surgery, is it?

I can see that. But, with standard production guitars going from $700 to $2,000, I guess Fender doesn't see the ROI. Now, if their guitars were car prices, maybe they would accommodate; especially when you think about what it actually costs them to make a guitar (including parts and labor). Might be why companies like Warmoth do so well.

All good points, well made!

You can do that, it's called the Custom Shop and very expensive!

Jokes aside, I can totally see a MIM Mod Shop eventually. I could see that being extremely popular.

Probably be a good move commercially too. Not so much produced for stock.
