Fender is marketing these Vintera WRHBs as "revoiced".... which I would interpret as re-voiced from the now retired Classic Series. And yes, I know the Classic Series was itself "re-voiced" a few years back. So, I have no idea how these are constructed and how they differ, if at all, from any of the previous Classic Series WRHBs.

The 'revoiced' WRHBs were the ones Tim Shaw did for the AVRIs which I have had. They are better than the older MIMs ...but are made the same way with typical HB coils spaced apart to align under the WRHB poles.

They are a far cry from the original WRHBs in my old '74 Deluxe.

They aren't bad pickups. I've had better
HBs and worse HBs. They are a far cry from real WRHBs tho. Real WRHBs are rounder and sweeter in the high end and aren't ice picky, brittle, or harsh. Most A5 mag HBs tend towards grating on the high e and B strings. Which is exactly why I want pleased with that AVRI.

Many may like them. I'll take a pass. Gibsons underwound A3 CBs come far closer to WRHB to my ears.
