The Yosemite pickups are the ones that came with my Fender Performer Strat.
I ordered a Fralin replacement for the bridge pickup (Vintage Hot),

* they need to know if its polarity is North or South.

Any help would be appreciated as I don't have any testing equipment for electronics!

All you need is a compass.

Now the part I’m guessing about:

When you bring the compass next to the pickups and it points at the pickups you have north polarity.

(but I suppose it could be the other way around)

I forgot which way Fender pickups are magnetically polarized. But I do remember that it's the opposite of Duncan. Duncan ones are the way Fender pickups were polarized originally, pre-1960 or so.

If you have any doubt, just send Fralin your original pickup.

I have that guitar too (my avatar) and the Yosemite pickups are my absolute favorite Strat pickups ever, of the dozens I've tried over the years. Thye sound very full and ballsy to me, but remain clean and clear at the same time, without the loss of highs or shrillness associated with some other hotter than vintage Strat pickups.

How do you like Yosemite single coils?

I like them fine. I know you want more detail, don't know what else to say! I play clean with just reverb.
the only one I'm changing out is the bridge pickup. Ordered a little bit hotter one from Fralin.

plus that new pickup is their hybrid stagger with a raised D pole, and a flat G.

I don't see what difference it makes. If the new bridge pickup is out of phase with the middle one after installation, then just swap it's two wires and done.

Well I know I got an email from Lindy asking what polarity the pickup was.

He's just offering exceptional customer service, so instead of having to do as I suggested, as you would with most other makers, he's gonna wind you one to match your Fender pickups, so you don't have to do that.

Sounds good, I picked up a loaded ssh Yosemite assembly out of a 19 performer recently never used. I only had it in since yesterday which is why I dropped by. I read earlier reviews here etc. That said I don't like alnico v in the neck the other two positions I do like them. That said it does sound good in fact all positions are usable. I like the change away from the mid-range with the poles. As mentioned in the neck I prefer no stagger 50s no mids for clean no alnico v.

Bridge does a great single coil tone and the five positions blend very well. My first impression was the push pull pot should be opposite so you pull up to humbucker. Straight humbucker cuts through and is for sure usable but it's a bit dark. That said I'm not crazy bout humbuckers in strats.

That said imho the trade off with players and likes and dislikes are those two points mid-range and magnet alloy.

Fralin should be interesting in yours ...good luck

Anyway so the issue always was splitting the humbucker and being left with a not so desirable single coil bridge. Fender seems to have fixed this issue with a convincing sc bridge but the humbucker imo is the weak point ..so I guess many points become relevant ..idk first impressions I'll have to play around more and tweak ... anyway I do like the patent on the humbucker and believe the best offering with Fender is yet to come.

Thanx.
I should have said mine is single coil in the bridge position.

I really have no desire to switch out the other two pickups; I'm happy with them especially my playing style and such, just play clean too.
They do what they're supposed to do very good.

I guess the G-string's volume seems more prominent in the bridge pickup than the other two. And these are flat pole pickups.

Idk, i haven't spent any time with the bridge but you have a good one now. That said a great bridge pick-up isn't difficult or middle, neck for that matter its balancing the three ... usually you sacrifice in-between. I have a good bridge here and 3 single coil pg my thinking was use everything but the humbucker and wire my bridge in with neck bridge combined. But this sounds good so for the time being it's in. And as I was saying I could easily wire in the sd and then it's lacking tone across the spectrum. especially in-between

The electrical phase does not effect the magnetic polarity.

Then what idfference does is make if the Fender and Fralin pickups aren't the same polarity? And, then why did Lindy ask him what polarity the Fender pickups were?
The only reason would be that if the Performer Strat has a reverse wound/reverse polarity middle pickup for hum canceling. In that case if the bridge pickup was not the same polarity as the original, the hum cancelation in switch position 2 would not work.

What you say is true, if the pickup is out of phase, you can just swap the wires, but that only has to do with the direction of the winding. The magnetic polarity stays the same.
