If you want you kid to get into guitars just keep throwing guitars at them, eventually they will catch them. No need for multinational doll companies.

That's cool! I'm glad that these two have teamed up to help get young ladies interested in guitar. I know it's all just product placement, marketing, etc... but at least it leads somewhere I can get behind.

Nice to see musical instrument product placements instead of Coke.

Yep, a way to get young girls interested in guitar. I have nothing against the idea
At first I thought this going to be a Barbie themed guitar like Hello Kitty

Last week Fender said that worship in church drives one third of their sales. I can think of a few marketing themes along those lines.

That said Taylor Swift is also said to be driving sales of acoustics so why not Barbie?

Did you just compare a living, breathing artist singing deeply personal songs to a toy?

well, if you look at the average age of this here group of old farts, fender corp can see the writing on the wall. Funny that the trailer is introduced by a "Barbie" who holds the guitar as a prop, and the characters in the trailer appear to actually play the guitar for a microsecond.

I can think of better directions than "Barbie."

I recently gave my Yamaha 12 string to the music department of my old high school.

How about Fender partnering with something EDUCATIONAL?

    imo.

I think they may be a little late to the game, but...
Recent statistics showed young females to be by far the largest portion of new guitar players/customers.
So lessons targeted at young females makes sense to me.

A 12 string??? Something even experienced musicians have a hard time keeping in tune, let alone a novice. I'm sure your gift was appreciated/gathering dust.

TS has a relaxed strumming accompaniment style that sounds good on either an acoustic or an electric guitar. It’s not flashy and it’s deceptively simple, exactly what an aspiring young girl singer would want to emulate.

Tell little girls they can be something other than an easy bake oven?

    What could possibly go wrong?
