So I'm a fan. I will most likely never pony up for a customer shop guitar, so this is the next best way to get more left handed options out of Fender USA.

I just got my second Mod Shop guitar yesterday, the Jazzmaster you see below in Daphne Blue. The Telecaster in Surf Green arrived a couple of weeks ago. This was the only way I could get a USA made lefty Jazzmaster outside of the Custom Shop, as well as a USA made Tele with a rosewood board. And cool colors, too, not to mention pick up choices for the Tele (I went with Texas Specials). They're both great guitars.

And the Jazzmaster has everything I love about Jazzmasters, but without the weird quirky jankiness that most people hate. Dig it!

Lovely guitars. I spec'd one out for myself and wound up with a really reasonable price.

I think I'll still probably go Warmoth on my next one, but this is a very cool option to have for Tele #3 (in 2020 [please don't tell my wife about it or the Warmoth either, thx]).

Those are cool. I wondered how the whole ordering through the Mod shop thing went for people. Sounds like you had a positive experience.

very cool! I wish they had more neck profile and fretwire choices but my guess is Fender will be online direct in the next 5-10 years.

The only thing I wish they would offer is a reverse headstock

    And an Esquire option

And some more pickup options (eg, Humbucker in the bridge, P90 in the neck)

But I guess I'm looking at DIY or Custom Shop for my more esoteric needs

Sounds like FMIC is finally showing the Leftys (playing lefty) some real respect.

    It is about time.

Well, it's definitely nice to have a few more lefty options available, for sure, even if a Mod Shop Tele ends up costing more than an American Pro, for example. But it was definitely worth it to me.

My Jazzmaster was almost three weeks behind schedule due to a quality control issue, then a delay in a shipment of new cases, but the customer service rep I dealt with offered to send me a couple of t-shirts as a "thank you for your patience" gesture, which I thought was nice. I even got to pick out the ones I wanted and everything! :)
