Found this Mexican John 5 Telecaster at a pawn for $425 CAD. Had some cosmetic wear and didn’t have any strings so I could try it out unfortunately. Never seen it before but it’s a unique looking guitar. Heaviest guitar I’ve ever held too. Worth picking up at that price? Hard to find sold listings of this one.

Looks like that would have been a good deal years ago: https://www.tdpri.com/threads/fender-john5-mim-price.501696/

Considering today's market, and the fact that you're talking Canadian dollars, I'd say jump on it if you're at all interested. Strings are like $5, if you're concerned about whether it works, bring in a set and slap 'em on. Hard to see the owner saying no.

I'd buy it at that price, and it wasn't even on my radar until I saw your post. John 5 is legit, and it's a cool guitar.
