02-04 cij with some harmonic design vintage plus pickups
can someone plis help me with the exact part number of MIJ custom 62 reissue PICKGUARD, my guitar is the sunburst one, from around 86 - 90-something? thanks a lot!!!!
my is same model (cherry), but from ater years.
same pickguard from any Fender place can be ordered.
lots of people sell them, from Callaham to Amazon.
or, are you having a color match problem? i had a heck of a time figuring out my "white" pickguard was actually called mint green! 3 ply, eight screws.
JV Tele Bridge question... I have a JV9xxxx bridge... one of the last made I guess.
But It has threded bridge saddles... I have not seen this before.
Was 1984 the only year they used the threaded bridge saddles?

I can't help but think that the large brass barrel saddles would have a better tone...
But, I bend a lot so the threaded may actually work better for me.
Just don't see the threaded very often. Any consensus?
I'm wanting to build a Mahogany Tele... but no P90's just some DiMarzio Area Fat Pros.
they use threaded saddles now. probably aways did.
here's mine, recent production (2009):
guess you can't see the threads very well; it's just like yours.
from a MIJ T + 6 digit serial.
different... better is subjective. Robben Ford has the old threaded saddles, lots of folks do. of course, the manufacturers still male them, too.
there are also after-market bridge plates:
Callaham is super nice... But you have to add another zero or two behind Stew Mac's price... LOL
I guess that brings me to the question...
Should I sell this bridge? Is it worth anything to a JV collector?
I don't care, I just want a bridge that will give me the best tone.
i haven't checked, is the stew-mac thicker steel like the callaham?
maybe the prices have changed, but i'm pretty sure my plate (only the plate, was like, $35., us).
there is some difference with the thicker plate, some may not like it. slightly more sustain (i used the upper mounting holes as well), slightly less thin...both can be not desireable.
Yeah... $37 for the saddles... the whole bridge is $130... Thanks Tedro!
i meant just the plate, i think it's $40.
call them tomorrow: 540-678-4043
yep, mine is 8 screws 3 ply no mounting holes for neck pickup.... im trying to restore bcouse previous owner cut to allow strat pickup in place of standard tele neck one... im installing Dimarzio Area T neck pickup (standard neck pickup size) and new pickguard... look that cut
I had a huge slice of good fortune when I bought my Sunburst '62 Custom two years ago. The guy selling it offered me a box of L.Ps for free. If I didn't take them they were going in the bin.
Imagine my joy when I got home and found the box contained a mono first pressing of 'Are You Experienced?' and original 'All Things Must Pass' box set.
Together worth more than the guitar.
I shall never curse my luck again
great deal star69!!
i wish my luck was that good
I thought that I posted into this thread already, I guess I didn't.
Here's my '90s MIJ 52 RI
Thanks tedro, I really love that guitar and it didn't break the bank.
I posted pics in a NGD thread a couple of weeks ago but I want to officially join the club.
