I just stole this really jacked up modded "96 MIJ Fender Sonic Blue Jagstang at a pawnshop
    this past Friday.

It was selling for a stupid no brainer price, so I HAD to get even thought it looks really bad right now.

It's nothing a new pickguard and some cleaning and TLC can't fix up.

I'll post the after pics once I get it looking presentable.

I was anticipating a remark of this caliber.

    It was the Male nanny....

    ;)

Good find. Ummm, pickgaurd aside, does the top slider switch split a hot rails single coil?
That pickup is the proverbial "dude playing a dude disguised as another dude..."

I guess pawnshops keep giving as long as I'm putting in the time daily to hunt deals down.

The deals are still out there, but they're not coming as frequent as they have in the past.

When I go a whole year without a killer amazing deal, then I'll know it's over.

    Hopefully not though. :D

    I thought the same thing.

I guess the previous owner thought he'd put his own spin in that pickguard and make it really unique.

    Obviously he failed miserably.

    Thanks.

Actually the neck SD Hot Rail is barely audible and will need to be rewired.

The tone control isn't working either.

I have a great guitar tech that's going to install a new pickguard and rework all the electronics.

I going to make the slider closest to the bridge a pickup selector as I don't want the out of phase setting these guitars are set up for.

I don't know if I can turn the other slider to split the humbuckers.

I guess once I get it to my guitar tech, we'll be able to see what can be done.

I really can't wait to see what this guitar will sound and play like once it's been fixed up.

You can make the slider split the coils on the bridge if the pickup has 4 wires.

Good call on the top as a selector.

Yea, if I can make one of the sliders a pickup selector and use the other to split the humbuckers that's what I'd like to do.

I'm taking the guitar to my guitar tech tomorrow, and we'll discuss all the options.
