NO, never. I'm not a teenager anymore. I don't care who's name is on it.

Maybe, but I'd pay more for them to get his name out of the case.

why not? It looks like an interesting re-issue priced about the same as any other masterbuilt tele.

I don't see myself spending $8500 on any guitar. Especially since I already have plenty of fine ones.

I guess if I had $850,000 in guitar gear already 1/100 of that for another guitar would seem reasonable.

Reality is I have less than $1000 in guitar gear so no.

Just like those pens Fender's pedaling, I'll wait and get mine at the dollar store. There isn't a Telecaster on this earth that (I'd) pay that much for. You're mileage could, and most likely may vary.

I’m glad they didn’t put his name on the actual guitar. That would be cheesy. The thing is, it’s a replica. You can get a similarly spec’d guitar for much less, without being a “signature” model. The thing is, when I think of Joe B, I don’t think “Telecaster.” A player more directly and specifically connected to the Telecaster, I might buy a signature model if my income allowed it, but not this one. The fact remains that I would rather have a non-Fender guitar with the maker’s name on the peg head than a Fender guitar with random guitar hero’s name in the case.

I would not. I don't care whose names is on a guitar, and I also don't care for for these fake "relics". A NOS version of this might appeal to me (but probably still not).

That said, if a famous guitarist can influence the design and features (i.e. help to design - whatever that means) of a guitar to make that guitar a better instrument, then attaching their name to it isn't necessarily a bad thing. Did John Mayer make improvements/changes to the latest PRS that bears his name? Don't know. Maybe it's just a cynical marketing ploy and he didn't really collaborate for 2 years with PRS on that model. Who knows, but I think it's likely that the guitar suits HIS preferences. Maybe yours, too. At least the PRS is priced more reasonably.

    This.

If I was a deca-millionaire and they agreed not to put Bonamassa's name anywhere on it, I might consider it.

I don't dislike JB, although I find his ego off-putting, but his name doesn't belong on it just because he owns one.

It looks legit, the CS does great relic work. I know it sounds great because it is what it is.
$8,500 is a lot of money but if it's a custom shop limited model it is "worth it" as long as people buy it.
It also looks tasteful, I like the way Fender minimizes the "signature" part of their signature models.

I'll give them props where due, the aesthetic is right.

$8500 isn’t ridiculous for a FCS Master Built Telecaster built to MY specs. Built to someone else’s, that’s just nuts, especially when I wouldn’t specify anything close to it. And then there’s the purely rational consideration that I’m perfectly happy with my avatar Telecaster with its 12” radius neck and N4 Noiseless pickups. That’s MY spec. The neck on mine is naturally worn smooth where I play it. Mine has history important to me including a history of failed experiments that helped me bring it to where it is today.

FCS is cool. There are plenty of unusual models to choose from. Attention to detail justifies the price at least to some. But there’s nothing about this No Caster that cries out for its being master built.

Whatever you think of the guitar, watch the little video on the link. It's actually pretty cool.

I like 7.25 radius and vintage sized frets. But I'd put one together for 1K tops.

Nope. I’m happy enough with my G&L and Vintera Tele’s, which combined cost me less than a fifth of what they’re asking for Joe B’s Les Tele.

The Jason Isbell model has a good video talking about why he spec’d his guitar the way he did.

I just looked at Instagram and Joe said it is sold out already.
