    We've all seen 'em:

I have always preferred the large headstock over the small. It just seems sexier, being all curvy and everything. And, I like the bold logos and overall balance it gives to the appearance of the guitar.

But, I've come to find that I seem to be in a small minority on this point. It seems most folks like the smaller headstock and find the large one too much, too Gumby-ish, if you will.

What do you think? Am I nuts (yeah, I think we already know the answer to that!)?

Which do you prefer? The smaller Fender headstock or the larger one, and why?

Small. The big one looks like an oar.

I find the big one to be akin to a girl who would be a 10/10 if it weren't for her distractingly big nose.

+1 for the CBS big - much nicer looking in the overall context of the instrument. I ditched the standard neck on my American Special strat and got a neck with the larger headstock (I think it was from a Highway One) and it looks so much cooler.

Don't forget to vote! So far, three people have expressed a preference for large, but only I've voted for it. The poll has no validity if people don't vote!

(Of course, it has no validity anyway, but, y'know, whatever... ;) :D :p )

The big one makes it it look like you're searching for a four foot tall can to open...

Neither of those girls appear to have big noses to me...of course perhaps I have lower standards

I'll take small headstock with spaghetti logo as my preference. And keep it Tele while your at it.

Not bothered either way by the look; but I don't like how the big head parts the flaps of the hanger and makes the small head of insufficient girth to fill the gap, and slip out too easily, if i want to pop it in later.

It's the same girl, albeit many years (and operations) apart.

When playing the large headstock version you become a weathervane and end up with that monstrous sail down wind...

The FAA requires reverse headstock CBS strats to install an aviation beacon on the top of the unsightly dorsal fin looking outcropping...

The big one looks like it's bloated or swolen.

Shows that I may pay more attention to the headstocks than the girls then!

I don't know if that will save you much money, but it sure will save you a lot of trouble and heartache!
