I dunno - I kinda like it, especially in red. The phase change switch could be a useful addition.
Cant stand it, looks like UFO
I really dig MH Strat, looks like metal machine
Groovy, but not $600 groovy.
I'm not so sure about the switching, or the proximity of them, but other than that, in red or black, it looks fine to my eyes.
The eighties rang, and want the green colour back in its cell, where it belongs. A dark cell.
I used to sell the 80's models. I'm excited about this. I was in a garage band in 81 with a guy who had a black Lead III. I always thought it was cool guitar.
Tugs at my heart strings.
Looks like Gibson designed it.
I like the green Lead II.
The Custom Shop, on the other hand, drank so much hard liquor they probably don't remember what they made the night before.
Then, looking at the alternative reality "Volume 2" stuff, questionable choices. Putting a strat trem on anything instead of a JM style one or a bigsby was only acceptable on strats and like every offset made in Mexico from 1998 until 2010.
Why does the same price point stick a matching headstock on a black guitar, then a black headstock on the rest of the colors?
I feel like the whole line is neat, but missing obvious details.
Also, I was hoping to see more signature models, since they said they were making more signature models.....
Is the cabinet made out of wood from the Mayflower or something?
I've got two of the original Lead I s ('80 and '81). They are great guitars.
maybe if it spec'd to this..
I had a Lead III exactly like the white one pictured above. It was a nice guitar, and a cool breakaway from just another Strat. I regret selling it.
I’m gonna bet that these probably aren’t as well made as the 80s ones, though....and yeah that neon green is heinously unnecessary.
I liked the Lead models back in the '80s. Gigged a 2-humbucker model for a while back then. Great guitar.
I might be able to muster up some enthusiasm for one of the new ones!
I think seats from the Hollywood Bowl, smells more like farts than barnacles.
or perhaps like barnacle farts...
While have a pickup selector switch and a phase switch instead of a 4-way switch?
Takes me back. I used to drool over these in music stores in the early 80s.
"Yeah, I farted on your amp at an Eddie Money concert in 81, dude."
