Cool! It's too bad that anything made from Fender in 1959 is worthless. ;)

I watch that one every now and then. I might search for a few more fender videos, I'm in the mood to watch a few tonight

Awsome! I toured the "Heritage" Guitars plant a couple years ago, (old Gibson factory in Kalamazoo) Still using the "hands on" woodworking method, No-CNC machinery, in my opinion = Custom Shop work!
    Thanks for posting the video!

I wonder how many guitars per day were being produced at the Fullarton plant then compared to the the Corona factory now?

Makes me wish on a hot day at work I could take my shirt off, too. But no, that's considered "offensive".

An OSHA inspector would have heart failure if he saw that video.

Of course, back then they had their own version of safety-don't want to get sawdust in your lungs? Just inhale through your cigarette while you're making your cuts at the bandsaw...

The strat body at 1:23 looked to be three pieces. I thought everything
back then was 1 piece just like many of the MIM's are today.;)

I love this film, because it dispels the notion that there was some kind of mystical mojo thing going on there. Just a bunch of folks making a living cutting out hunks of wood, soldering some wires, etc....

Nice! Haven't seen that one yet.

I was going to comment on the shirtless workers, cutting the wood without a particle mask and the cigarette smoking, but someone beat me to it. No one's mentioned the guy painting the guitars without a respirator.

Just ordinary people doing their jobs, according to the standards (or lack there of) of the day.

Yeah, who would want a worthless old guitar from back then?!

If I'm not mistaken, you would see some G&L's being built
