You guys have probably seen guys like Jimmy Page, Pete Townsend, Pink FLoyd(I think) and the VU use it. I think it sounds great!

I'm so used to seeing them in sunburst with rosewood boards in the old photos. Not that the OP one looks bad or anything. I'd like to have one.

Think I'll add more memory to my looper, get a Squier and put super lights on it and string her up for the higher register and play along with myself. Six is about all I can manage at a time these days.

This is the first over-$500 guitar I've seriously wanted in awhile. Not sure I'd like it any better than my Danelectro 12 though. We'll see.

Isn’t the fender different from like a ric ? Like the order of the octave strings are different ?

More like a Ric is different: I don’t know of any other 12-strings which have the octave strings nearer the floor. Fender have the more traditional layout with the octave strings nearer the ceiling - if you see what I mean.

That’s awesome if these are finally being shipped, I’ve been waiting for the local store to get one for months

I’ve liked these ever since I saw Johnny Winter playing one

Nice - I saw a small punk band in the 80's, lead guitarist was playing one of these. By happenstance, I saw one at a local fleamarket that same weekend, for $125. I've thought many times, wish I'd made that fella an offer. Probably could have had it for $75...

PS - that band's name was the Bewildering Pines.

Every thread needs a dissenting voice, so here I am.

Never would I spend my money on one of these aberrations. Spangly, jangly, airy fairy machines.

You are correct (I think!). But the 12string Charvel Surfcasters are also set up this way
