That's pretty much the Seymour Duncan and Jeff Beck thing, isn't it? OK, with covered pickups.

HB's on a Tele is sacrilege - and I can't get on with that reverse control plate, either.

    What can I say. I'm a traditionalist...

I was thinking the same thing - I wish they'd done something a little more clean - extend the pickguard or something. However these things are listing for 450$ so beggars can't really be choosers...I still see myself getting one eventually. The silver is gorgeous

Yes, they can - as well they ought!

Don't confine yourself to what you can AFFORD. You'll only be sad and frustrated in the end. Do yourself a favor. Save, and get what you WANT!

Just put a silver pickup ring on it and it will look so much better.

Man, you're not going to like what I'm working on at all!:D

I'm a traditionalist too but after putting so many together I had to do something different. It's definitely that!

The Tele's in tho OP are ok, I like the silver but still don't think I'd buy it.

When I saw the thread title I expected a top bound with a natural back and black top. Now, THAT I would like!

That's true - with all that chrome it would fit right in. Odd that fender didn't think of that.

I'd have to swap those knobs out. Aside from that minor quibble, looks like something to check out!

I think the knobs actually work with the red one.
