Looking for a P-90 guitar and this one is on my list of possibilities. Just looking for opinions on fit, finish and the sound of the pups.

    Wow...that many of you ?!.....

Now if was a Classic Vibe, you'd have a 12 page thread by now....

I too am interested in this model...if they did it as a ThinLine, that would be a very cool concept.

To me that just looks like a squier tele custom 2 with the large headstock and seems a bit over priced :)

If only I could play 1/2 as well as Andy. That guy could make a cigar box guitar played thru a clock radio sound good.

Those are very nice guitars, If I could afford one I would not hesitate in getting one.

I love mine. The fit and finish on it is really good, other than a cheap pickup selector switch. The only thing that bothers me is the outside strings hang WAY off the pickup poles. It doesn't affect the sound that I can hear, the look just irks me a little. The pickups are good enough for now but I wish the bridge was a bit raunchier and better matched in output to the neck.

The neck is definitely bigger than a standard MIM but I'm not the most discerning person when it comes to profiles so I'll leave that to someone else.

I got one when they first came out and still use it to play jobs. The pickups sound really nice but you need a good amp or at least an amp that is geared to your sound needs. Sounds great through a Blues Deluxe RI, '59 Bassman RI, vintage Fender Super, Fuchs ODS, '57 Deluxe RI, amps make the difference and are say, 55% of the sound.

What are your thoughts on the neck. Is it chunkier than a MIM Standard? I love me a thick neck. ;)

I couldn't compare it to a MIM Standard, held one once about 6 years ago. It's a not too chunky C shape. It's got some nice roundness to it and some fairly medium jumbo frets. I think a substantial number of people would like it if they tried it. It sure has a wider tonal range than a MIM Standard.

I had one of these and sold it. The fit and finish, at least on mine, was crappy. I wanted to love it, but everything about it was so cheap.

Funny thing is, watching ProGuitarShop vid, I can't help but wonder if I should have kept it. Those P-90s sound B/A!

Nah. The Squier couldn't hold a candle to my plain jane Highway 1.

Resurrecting an old thread... I own a red one. i started out with a black squier custom ii with p90s but sold it and upgraded to this. Much better quality and i much preferred the 9.5 radius of the fender.

Really nice guitar but i have found i use my 72 thinline and american special more. I do really like the tummy cut though.

Keep thinking I should sell it due to the lack of use, but can't bring myself to do it knowing it would be hard to replace if I hand a change of heart.

Wow, I didn't realize how old this was. I thought it was from July 2016!

Anyway anybody else out there still enjoying their black dove telecaster?
