I figured it was just a matter of time, so may as well get it over

    Congrats, hope you like it.
As I said in another thread, I recently got the 007. It sounds/ looks great.
I hope the build quality of these is good enough to last for a while.
Please keep us updated on your thoughts.

So, 1 house for guitars and 1 house for amps?:D

Congrats, hope it does everything you want.

Congrats. I can’t wait to hear what you think of it. Being a BB 15 owner and lover, but wanting just a bit more from it outside of the practice room, the 30R has been on my radar since it was announced. Can’t find them in stock anywhere around here, though.

you think? to me it's on the lean side of what I'd want. I want to be able to show up at a place and not have to count on there being an open channel in the PA for my amp, and be assured of making it over a LOUD drummer, if need be

And yep, I've got amps that do that, lots of em. But I've really wanted to spend some time and play some gigs with one of these things

I listened to the demos of this series of amps when they first came out and the one that really tempted me most was the 18-30.

The 30 watt with Reverb is a great choice. Hard to beat those 12AX7's for good tone. IMO

2 12s just makes no sense for me. If it was a 1X12, I'd've been looking at that one, also.

What got me going was playing someone else's 15 at a band prac. Supposedly, Fender listened to all the customer input they got from 15 owners, and put them into the 30R, including two separate footswitchable channels

2 -12's make sense when your listening to it, but not when your carrying it.:p

2 speakers were great when playing small venues back in the day, but almost everyplace has a board to plug into these days and that really makes no sense to have 2 speakers at that point.

    It showed up yesterday.

It's not the instant tonal nirvana I had hoped for, heh. I think the 15 I'd played maybe sounded better. I realize that on paper, that should not be likely, and, our memories can be tricky things...still...

BUT the sounds are very adjustable, with the sep EQ for both channels, and I seem to be getting some good and usable tones, after spending a good amount of time listening and turning knobs.

Clean channel, as has been pointed out in most reviews, is not classic traditional Fender clean, but still very good.

Drive channel can get flubby/spongy quick, you've really got to make tonal adjustments as you turn up either gain or volume on this.

Some niggles I have - when you hit "More Drive" the volume and gain jump is HUGE, almost to the point of problematic. Like, say you're cooking along on rhythm on a song on the Drive channel, and you hit "More Drive" to boost your lead...it's just generally too much. So you end up trying to compromise, with setting the volume on Drive lower than you'd maybe want, to compensate for the huge boost that's gonna come when you hit More Drive.

And, the Bright switch, on the panel it's not easily discernible when you push it whether you've just engaged it, or turned it off.

So, not knocked out like I was maybe hoping, but, still pretty cool. I will say this-had I had the chance to play one before buying, I probably wouldn't have bought it. No remorse (as I said earlier, I got a GREAT deal), just the truth.

Tonight I will have an opportunity to try it with a full band. We'll see how it fares

It's the culture of cancellations these days. Now, there's a band name lol.

Not sure what you're referring to...do you mean the Astros' sign-stealing scandal?

Room size do make a difference. I'm betting that the "More Drive" will be better in a larger room for gigging and the bodies soaking it all up.
