I have a 50s style partscaster that is wired with the BC/NC blend circuit. I was thinking of the Fender RI 52 bridge pup for an A3 option. Anyone familiar with the pup in ?

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. šŸ¤—

That pickup is the classic Telecaster sound, and probably the only pickup any Telecaster ever needs in the bridge position.

Is the 52 also sold as an American Vintage 52 by Fender? I wouldn’t mind trying it this in a project build

On Reverb Im seeing
52 American Vintage
52 Original Vintage
52 Pure Vintage

All by Fender.. curious if its branding over the years

I decided to use this because i really digg this pup. I solved the phase issue
& now it's a keeper. Wasn't a fan of A3 because i tried a couple before. They
were examples of the ones that were wound to almost 10k that somehow got
labeled as " vintage ", but never existed.

This pup is a hoss! šŸŽ

My esquire loves it. Sounds heavenly through my marshal, but everyone hears differently. I love when it comes together. Cheers..

Interesting. I had this pup in one guitar and was blown away. Great pickup.

However, in my Thinline Tele I’ve had a Fender OV bridge. It does it all. Chimes, twangs, punches and has good bite when needed. Jumps between genres well. I’ve tried so many bridge pups and the OV has remained my #1.

My 52RI is a 2002, bought used in 2004. Both pickups measure around 7.6KĪ©. Both sound great. Is there any reason to believe these aren't original?

I have the ā€œOriginal Vintageā€ ā€˜52 set in my partscaster. I chose wisely.

That’s an excellent pickup. Fender sold them as Fender Original Vintage.
Agreed. I've been through so many pickups in Teles and always have come back to the OV set and the bridge pickup is my favorite. It twangs incredibly well, it grinds and also does that edge or breakup stuff perfectly. One of the most versatile Fender Tele pickups out there. If you only want or can only have one set of pickups / one Tele I'd say this is the bridge pickup/set to have.
