I have several questions regarding this guitar. Hoping people can chime in.

1: Has anyone had issues with the Shawbuckers. I get the idea if getting unpotted like a PAF,
however I use overdrive and cannot control the feedback. And its not musical feedback, its squealing feedback.
Would potting these kill the tone? What are the alternatives?

2: I have seen many wide ranger Humbuckers to Humbuckers Ring adapters, which I was thinking of putting in some PAF style pickups,
but most of the adapters I have seen you would have to drill into the pick guard, but I don't want to do that. Are there any that exist without drilling?

3: What is a fair market price for this particular guitar today used but in great condition all original with original case.

My goal is to try and fix the squealing shawbuckers issue or find out market price so I can sell it.

I believe the only thing different between the LTD and a "regular" American Professional Deluxe Shawbucker is the body wood. So those Shawbuckers are normal sized humbuckers that cosmetically look like Wide Range humbuckers (with the covers and the 3/3 polepieces), not real Wide Range humbuckers that are oversized. So in answer to question #2 yes, any standard humbucker you want to use will fit that guitar.

Hey John thanks so much for pointing that out never knew, however the screws won't line up, because there are 2 on one side and one on the other.

Good point; unless you can find other humbuckers with that 2 on one side/1 on the other configuration then you would have to drill a hole for a typical single screw on both sides humbucker. Alternatively you could just get a replacement pickguard - either a Fender one to do the drilling on or an aftermarket one that is sized for normal humbuckers and only has 1 hole on each side.

Thanks John that might be an option.
