Then these early 70s classics are guaranteed to make you feel worse. There's a reason we don't hear these much today.

Well, I'd never heard them before.
Perhaps down under we were spared.

These DO make me feel bad.....but not because they're "sad" songs....it's 'cause they're "bad" songs. ;)

I prefer this take on sad songs. All the great, dark lyrics, but with good music ;)

Jeepers...I like "Last song." Not as much as "Sunshine Day" by the Brady Kids, but I like it.

It's much easier to find bad songs made today than it is looking for them from back in the 70's.

I love that song. (I guess you had to be there when they came out.)

My favorite thing is that the Lobo video appears to be a karaoke track which means somewhere in Asia there is enough of a demand for Lobo at karaoke bars to warrant a Lobo Karaoke video.

Ahh, 70's cheesy pop... I was stationed in San Diego from '77 - '80-- extremely fond memories of a very hedonistic time for many, including myself. This song sticks in my mind like a stepped-on Twinkie.

His whole Boats Against the Current album is a serious downer. But, lots of great 70's musicians performed on it.

I've heard most of the songs listed and don't necessarily hate them, but honestly I thought this was going to be a Janis Ian thread.
