I have never had a flu shot nor have I ever had the flu that I know of. Which makes me wonder why there is even a need for flu shots this year with all of the other precautions being taken for something somewhat similar on how it spreads.? Just wonderin'

I sometimes wonder if doctor visits are just a scam being supported by the tongue depressor industry. Or the lab coat industry. But until I get some solid proof I guess I’ll keep getting my flu shots and pneumonia shots. Might have to start getting shingles shots too.

Next week for the wife and I. Thanks for reminding me. I'll be dreading it even more now. :)
I told my wife I didn't need the Shingles shot because I never had Chicken Pox as a kid. The Doc called B.S so now I have to get that too.

Good move! Like you, I had the old shingles shot several years ago. I got the new two-part shot a couple of years ago and the pneumonia shot at around the same time. I'll be 71 next month and I want to stay healthy as long as I can.

My recent TDaP experience was perfectly delightful to my arm.
It had been many years, a change of insco & docs, so they let me know I was overdue.
I kinda thought I was doing them a favor checking things off their list.
    Today the bill arrived
    $52 vaxx
    $29 administer vaxx
    $97 conf to discuss it

Gonna have to be a little dumber about things and ask what these little meet/greet events cost before I say, "sure, why not..."

    Peace - Deeve

Glad you got inoculated, TD. My lady and I both did 2/3 of your deal this past Saturday: flu shot and first of two Shingrix shots. We had the Prevnar 13 injection two years ago.

Shingrix shot gives you a three day sore arm, but it’s a lot better than getting shingles. Some of my family members have had it, and I don’t want any part of it.

NOW YOU TELL ME. I tried turning on my DRRI and nothing, I mean no smoke, no noise, just a recorded message saying: YOU KNOW!

I gotta get well by Sunday, my son and I, and two of his friends are playing at Morro Bay on the coast this weekend. If I'm still alive, I ain't gonna miss that.

Being as isolated as you are, I can see how it's worth the gamble not to get a flu shot. Here with almost forty million people running around, when you go to blow your nose you may have the handkerchief wrapped around someone else's snozz. It's almost a necessity here.

Trust me, you might get through the other two, but you don't want the shingles. I haven't had 'em, and I don't want 'em.

Did the same thing 3 weeks ago when I had to get my liver checked due to really high billirubin levels. Doc said all is good, but here are a few vaccines.

That shingles shot left my shoulder feeling like I got hit with a hammer for about 4 days....and that is my mail slinging arm so it sucked. Of course shingles would suck worse.
