Apparently the FDP Forum i.e., "Fender Discussion Page" has closed. Hadn't been there for awhile and just saw that the site says closed January 02, 2020.

That was the first music/gear forum I got interested in many years ago, and actually was where I first heard about the TDPRI. The FDP had become less active and interesting over time, but I learned a lot there early on and there were some great folks and threads over there. Sorry to see it gone.....

I looked at it one day last year and most of the old members were still posting. I always enjoyed reading 5Strats posts.

I am a member of, albeit not an active follower of, one such group where the admin is a big Yngwe zealot and if you say anything against Lord Yngwe, you risk expulsion. It is supposedly a gear page, but in reality is more if an online shrine to one person's hero.

I can't remember ever visiting the FDP site.

I got banned years ago. Someone was complaining that Hollywood keeps remaking the same movies (True Grit had just been remade). I made the profound and inflammatory suggestion that Hollywood keeps remaking movies because we keep spending our money to watch them. I was banned the next day. I don't offer second chances. I never went back.

It was a great site in some ways earlier on, but what the owner liked best about being the owner was banning people or telling them "this is my house I make the rules." Like he hosted the forum in order to be able to say that a lot. It just got to be annoying. I was never banned but threats were issued multiple times.

The guy was always entitled to run it as he liked, I can respect that. It just got to be unpleasant.

I was banned from that site years ago too. There was a discussion about what constitutes something being classified as vintage. Someone mentioned that just about anything old that someone is willing to pay a premium price for could be considered vintage. I mentioned that I had an old can of very old square nails that had belonged to my Grandfather and was wondering if those could be considered vintage as well. That question got me banned immediately by the owner. Crazy.
It sure is good to be here!

Fdp may have closed down but has re-opened As Moes Tavern 2.

While moderation duties have passed to an old member the old owner is still "big " on the forum.

I'll stay away.

What’s his name?

What name does he go by on the forum?
What are all the names he’s ever used?
Has he always used the same name?
So if I go on Moe’s Tavern 2.0 who should I look out for ?

This isn’t one of those cases of a bunch of grown men scared of a loudmouth bully is it?

Where have I seen that before..?
