I do not care for most sports, mainly those that involve persons chasing various balls around, but I used to like boxing, a long time ago. but that was in the days when there were giants in the earth: Ali and Frazier.

Outside of playoffs/championships for most any sport, which usually ramp up the excitement level, I rarely watch a whole game of anything but would say in this order -
    NFL football
    World Cup skiing
    NBA basketball
PGA golf - find it peaceful and nice to look at
    Pro tennis
    ML baseball

Professional soccer (aka football to some).

Beautiful game. Pace, skill, inventiveness, grit.

Announcers are honest, witty and interesting.

    No commercials.

I like to watch international games and often watch cricket/football games played between countries other than my own...

Aussie kids growing up playing sport have the idea they will play for Australia one day in their chosen sport...

How do you even know how good your local guys are at a game unless you play against other countries who play the same game?...

I actually know it is very popular in Canada. I know on television there is Curling Night in Canada. I just have never understood it well enough or had the interest to watch.

I have not answered the question though. I think NHL Hockey followed by college football. I also like baseball but have it on while basically doing something else. Baseball has too much dead time to just sit and watch it.

MLB , the Nats specifically, gets more eyeball hours from me than anything else. Followed by NFL especially if the Dolphins are on which doesnt happen much here. After that it's NASCAR. That used to be hands down my favorite. I'd watch all three top divisions, practice, qualifying, races, after race and all the weekly shows. And go to Richmond and Daytona whenever possible. But the Powers That Be got too wrapped up into trying too big, too fast that they lost sight of what made it such a great sport. And every time they make an "improvement " it's one step forward, two steps back

Can't believe it took so long to find baseball on here. Hands down my favorite sport to watch. When nearly every pitch has the capacity to blow the game open, I can't understand how people find it boring. I know it's been losing ground in popularity for a long time, but watching or listening to a good game is about the only sporting I get caught up in.

Golf. I love playing it but watching it on TV is very relaxing.

Agreed. Premier League Football. For the reasons you mention. A beautiful game indeed. I played until college. I don’t have a team - like to see Man U and Chelsea lose for some reason. I need to support my local team though - Atlanta United. I’ll get around to it.

My favorite is baseball. I bought the ticket so I can watch whatever games I like. There's almost always one that's worth watching because of who is pitching, teams involved. I also watch college football, mostly My Beloved Buckeyes, NFL playoffs and the occasional "Big Game" between two good teams, often promoted as a playoff preview, and NBA playoffs. I used to be a huge March Madness fan, did the brackets and all that, but the one & done took the life out of it for me.

I'm in total agreement. Currently, my TV Telecaster is the black one. I rotate them so no one feels neglected.

Olympic downhill skiing. The thrill of victory, the agony of defeat.:cry::D Seriously though, maybe I like it because I can't ski worth a d*mn, and those guys/gals really fly down those mountains. It's amazing.
