This time of year I like dark. Strong and dark.
These will get the job done!
The Okocim Palone is something for the OP to try! Very hard to get these days here in the Midwest USA
@getbent nailed it with Sierra Nevada.
Unfortunately, being gluten sensitive, I normally only drink light; Coors Light, Labatts Blue Light, Yuengling Light. More than two regular beers can be risky.
I did some calculations the other day. I started 2019 with 6 cans of beer, bought a total of 2 12-packs, and ended the year with 15 unopened ones.
Given that comsumption rate, I guess my opinion probably doesn't matter.
Not the strongest ale but it’s absolutely lethal. It’s Great stuff
One of my favorites as well!!! This and Sierra nevada’s 40th hoppy anniversary are my current favorites
Lately, it's been Celebrator Doppelbock weighing in at 6.7%.
I’ve been drinking less lately, but traditional Belgian style ales are my favorite. Without a doubt the best brewery of that style on our side of the pond is Unibroue, and this one in particular weighing in at 9%:
I have no idea how it tastes. And really dont want to. Gotta like the packaging though
Their Milk Stout is fantastic.
I like beers you can't see thru...high gravity too.
Straight to Ale's "Laika" RIS, esp the bourbon barrel aged version, is one of my favorites.
This is my favorite. A great Imperial IPA. 9% and out here in Co. it’s $18.99 for a 12 pack. Just polished off a 12 pack with my son last night! He comes over a couple of days a month and we kill a 12 of Voodoo Ranger eat wings and watch action movies.
What's up no good old fashion cowboys on this site?
I was 16 and snuck into and old time honkey tonk and ordered my first beer a Falstaff on tap. I endured drinking that poisin for fear of getting busted and later nearly **** myself stupid over the next few hours - dang them cowboys were tough
The gold standard of beer.
I'm an amber ale guy. Like stouts and porters too, generally. Not an IPA guy, AT ALL. Yuck.
Here's one of my go-to's....
Here are a few favorites
I've always wanted a beer Stein, like a good one. I had my sister pick me one up in Germany one time when she was there. She got me a really cool Hofbrau Munchen Stein.
Now I've been into German beers for a long time. Just give me a straight up German lager and I'm happy. So I'm always on the lookout for good ones. So I noticed one day at my favorite liquor store they actually had the Hofbrau Munchen imported from Germany and to my surprise it was fantastic. Possibly the best beer I've ever had. It checks all my boxes at least. I drank my last one tonight right after work. I'll get some more soon.
Another vote for Bells Two Hearted Ale.
Also another great hoppy Michigan beer:
