Favourite bands without a bass player

Hound Dog Taylor (as mentioned above), Junior Kimbrough and RL Burnside generally didn’t have a bassist.

Early on, Flat Duo Jets, the Black Keys and the White Stripes didn’t, either.

And…As of this moment, the Screamin’ Armadillos don’t have a bassist, and it’s working out ok.

Billy Joel’s first band, Attila, didn’t have a bass player or a guitarist. It was rather a rhythm section of Billy Joel on keyboards and vocals, and Jon Small on drums. All the bass parts were handled by Billy on a keyboard bass.
